The 12th Annual Special Olympics Florida Golf Classic will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Heathrow and Red Tail Country Clubs.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the 15,000 athletes of Special Olympics Florida. To date, this tournament has netted over $1,500,000 for Special Olympics Florida!
Golfers may choose from one of two shotgun starts: 11:30am at Red Tail or 12:00pm at Heathrow. Course preference will be granted on a first come, first served basis, so reserve your spot early for this year's tournament!
A field of 228 golfers will compete in a “Shamble” with best two balls format. Entry in to on-course contests and Mulligans can be purchased at event check-in.
Event entry includes a premium tee gift package, lunch/brunch, on-course food and beverage and all players will return to the exclusive Heathrow Country Club for a cocktail reception, dinner, awards and live auction.
On course contests and raffles will be held and all paid participants will be eligible for a Grand Prize Drawing, which will be held during the Awards Dinner from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Past Grand Prize Drawing trips have included a Disney cruise, Pinehurst, Pebble Beach, Hawaii, Scotland and the U.S. Open! You must be present to win.
Your participation in this tournament helps Special Olympics Florida provide sports training and competition programs, which enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities not just physically, but emotionally, psychologically and socially. The skills these athletes learn through sports help build confidence and self-esteem, which carries over into all aspects of their lives!
PGA great Donnie Hammond is the Tournament's Honorary Chairman.
